Sadaqah Jariyah

The Prophet ﷺ said: "When a person dies, their deeds come to an end except for three: a continuing charity (sadaqah jariyah), knowledge that benefits others, or a righteous child who prays for them."

What is Sadaqah Jariyah?

Sadaqah jariyah is charity whose benefit continues long after you give it. It doesn't end with one meal or one payment — it keeps serving people for years. A school where children learn year after year, or a small business that gives a family a steady income, are clear examples.

Sadaqah Jariyah for a parent or a loved one who passed away

Many of our donors give in the name of a mother, a father or a relative who has passed away. When you donate, switch on "Dedicate this donation" and add their name — it will appear on your receipt. If the person is alive, we can email them a dedication card in your name.
